Under the direction of the Field Supervisor or Superintendent, the Crew Leader directly supervises a work crew and participates in Park functions including, maintenance and upkeep of parks medians, landscape, parks and event facilities, and TXDOT right-of-ways, park construction, sports league and other event set up, support and break down, and sport field pre-work. Works closely with all divisions of the Parks and Recreation Department as well as with other municipal departments such as Public Works, Police and Fire. Interprets work orders and assigns the job to employees. Drives crew truck, makes needed repairs and adheres to all safety procedures. Normal work schedule may include weekends, extra hours and/or after-hours call out for emergencies as assigned.
