About The Position

IMEG is hiring a Crew Chief in Dallas, TX, to conduct visual site observations, perform project management functions on assigned projects, and provide support and guidance to assigned crew members. In this role, you will help foster standards around crew leadership, workload management, quality assurance, training and development, continuous improvement, project management best practices, and client engagement. You’ll also work closely with your manager and other Crew Chiefs to align crew operations and team goals with IMEG’s mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Engineering, or equivalent, preferred
  • 6 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in structural inspection and CA
  • ICC Master of Special Inspections and PTI Post-Tension Level 1/2 is preferred
  • Possession of at least (3) recognized certification related to Structural Inspection (i. e. ICC Reinforced Concrete, ICC Structural Masonry, ICC Structural Steel and Bolting, ICC Structural Welding, PTI Post-Tension Level 1/2, and/or AWS-Certified Weld Inspector) required
  • Ability to effectively engage, communicate, motivate, and supervise crew members
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents including drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Manage and control own schedule to ensure timely services are provided on all assigned projects
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual site observations and support assigned structural inspection and construction administration projects
  • Provide guidance, support, and effective communication to crew members to support successful project execution and team operations
  • Foster collaboration across the crew and proactively optimize weekly crew workloads
  • Partner with the manager to conduct quality assurance reviews for accuracy, integrity, compliance with CA best practices, and consistency of deliverables
  • Identify skill gaps within the crew and provide training and assistance to strengthen SI/CA and structural knowledge for advancement
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance efficiency, productivity, collaboration, and CA workflows
  • Perform project management activities on structural inspections (SI) projects and Construction Administration (CA) projects
  • Maintain and develop client relationships while supporting client engagement events, proposals, and marketing
  • Perform shop drawing reviews, including markups for the SEoR’s review and approval
  • Assist with RFIs, interpretation of test results, contractor change orders, and constructability reviews of contract documents
