About The Position

This position will be part of the Lockheed Martin Sustainment Services, supporting the F-35 Field Modification Team at various locations. This position requires maintenance tasks including conditioning aircraft for modifications, removal and installation of attaching hardware, component removal and installations, assistance with software uploads, and various system operational checkouts. Technical requirements include operational checks associated with modifications and restoration of aircraft to flying condition subsequent to accomplishment of modifications and maintenance. The role involves interpreting and using job guides and maintenance manuals. This requisition supports the aircraft modification and heavy maintenance program for F-35 program requirements. The modification team will be based at Eglin AFB, FL with potential travel requirements at other F-35 locations. Responsibilities include identifying aircraft locations by station, butt-line, and waterline as shown on engineering documentation and technical orders. The role also involves verifying the application/condition of installed LO materials for conformity to specifications, determining material and time required to perform repairs, and performing removals, corrective actions, and reinstallations where design and modification changes occur. Other job responsibilities include setting up and operating various types of material testers and mixers, recording data and procedural information for future use, improvising shop aids to facilitate fabrication, application or assembly operations, and working in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.

Requirements

  • Candidate must have APG/Crew Chief experience on fighter type aircraft.
  • Performs required Airframe and Powerplant General/Technical Aircraft Maintenance (TAMS) (Crew Chief) tasks in support of maintenance technicians in support of tasks identified by the USAF and in technical data issued for the F-35 aircraft.
  • Candidate must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, structure repair manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must possess an Interim Secret Clearance to start with the ability to obtain a Final Secret Clearance
  • Must have a current US Passport
