The P CD CREDIT Department of the P REVENUE MANAGEMENT Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has 1 Management vacancy available. This role is responsible for leading, planning, and effectively managing credit & collections policies, procedures & initiatives to align with corporate philosophy & strategic goals. The position involves coordinating and facilitating new programs and process improvements for Hawaiian Electric, Maui Electric and Hawaiian Electric Light to manage credit & collections and their impacts on other areas, while balancing customer satisfaction. A key responsibility is minimizing and maintaining the Company’s bad debt expense as set by the Company and Public Utilities Commission (“PUC”), and minimizing revenue lag delays. The role also involves developing, recommending, and instituting policies & procedures for the collection of delinquent accounts and the reduction of arrears balances, reporting and implementing new Federal regulations, and providing training and communication to managers and employees on evaluating information, exercising sound judgment, and ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and organizational standards. Additionally, the Credit Supervisor is responsible for leading, planning, and managing the Credit Section operations, including personnel matters such as performance management, staffing, employee recognition, development, and conduct. This includes developing and maintaining section operational procedures, standard guidelines, and coordinating employee training. The role requires providing effective coaching, support, and guidance to build and maintain a high-performance team, and developing and implementing strategies to increase productivity, efficiency, quality of service, and customer satisfaction. The supervisor is accountable for the credit and collections of all commercial, residential, and government agency accounts with delinquent balances, as well as non-commodity (or OCARs) billings, ensuring timely recovery and quality customer service. This includes selecting and monitoring collection agencies and vendors, managing the decision-making and processing of residential and commercial bankruptcies, obtaining the best offers from courts, coordinating large bankruptcy cases, and managing delinquent special needs customers within regulatory guidelines. The role also handles escalations for other areas, including sensitive cases and PUC complaints.
