The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details. The Vice President Credit Analysts in the Structured Finance Group manages a portion of the loan portfolio, performing credit analysis, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring of financial performance and covenant compliance. They prepare credit reviews, coordinate with internal teams, and support loan execution and documentation processes. The role also includes handling administrative agent responsibilities such as lender communications and amendments, while ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements. Candidates are expected to have strong project finance experience, financial and legal knowledge, and the ability to manage complex transactions.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project finance (or related sectors), especially credit analysis, execution, due diligence, documentation, and administration.
  • Seasoned project finance professional with portfolio management experience and ability to handle refinancing of existing loans.
  • Sound knowledge of finance, accounting, legal/documentation and various project sectors (both US domestic and cross-border).
  • BA required
  • Ability to speak, read and write Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management of a segment of the Structured Finance Group loan portfolio
  • Perform due diligence and regularly scheduled evaluation of assigned loan portfolio, including covenants compliance
  • Prepare detailed credit reviews and required credit applications according to policy, including evaluation and analysis of financial condition of key contract parties, regulatory and industry risks, historical operating & financial performance and projected performance
  • Responsible for the coordination and communication of account information across various constituencies throughout the organization
  • Review loan documentation for newly assigned accounts in advance of closing to make sure that time frame for funding notices is acceptable and that Borrower and IE certificates contain appropriate representations
  • Responsible for in-depth knowledge of particular industries (including but not limited to electric power, oil & gas, mining, and pipelines) and all current events utilizing internal and external sources
  • Responsible for proactive coordination with execution team and Loan Transactions Unit for proper booking of newly assigned accounts
  • Evaluate proposed contents of deliverable reports to make sure that information is sufficiently complete
  • Perform related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
  • Function as the first line resource for credit-side administrative issues
  • Coordinate waivers/amendments/consents with agency desk
  • Respond to credit inquiries from syndicate banks, confirming information with the borrower as necessary
  • Influence improvement of internal process by participating in committees, project teams, or transaction discussions
  • Ensure that policy, compliance and regulatory requirements are followed (i.e. CoDA, LOA, internal audit J-FSA, Bank of Japan and FRB)
