Credit Risk - Director (Financial Services)
About The Position
CLA is seeking a Director to join its Credit Risk team serving the Financial Services industry. The role provides audit services to clients and oversees credit risk consulting engagements. The Director manages and reviews staff work, mentors employees on audit and accounting technical matters and professional development, and contributes to business development and strategic activities in credit management. The position also involves maintaining relationships with bank executives and directors, staying informed about banking and credit review developments, and supporting clients and CLA colleagues on credit review issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; a combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Seven years of relevant financial institution experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

- Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze relevant data to scope loan review projects or assignments.
- Evaluate credit files and assess risk on an aggregated basis.
- Coordinate with clients to support timely completion of fieldwork.
- Lead loan review engagements and organize and communicate review findings.
- Review workpapers and loan review reports for quality control.
- Prepare and review credit review reports.
- Provide ongoing technical assistance to clients.
- Anticipate and address client issues.
- Assist with oversight and completion of other engagements, special projects, or assigned duties.
- Oversee and review assigned staff members working on credit risk engagements.
- Assist with business development and strategic activities in the credit management area.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key bank executives and directors.
- Attend conferences and association meetings for financial institutions.
- Work with CLA staff and clients to address credit review issues.
- Stay informed about banking industry and credit review developments.
- Mentor staff on audit and accounting technical issues and professional development.
