About The Position

As an Analyst within the Credit Risk organization, you will assess and evaluate the creditworthiness of institutional trading counterparts of Fidelity Capital Markets (FCM) as well as monitor the credit and market exposure to these counterparts. Your role will primarily focus on Hedge Funds but also Asset Managers, Proprietary Trading Firms, Family Offices, Pension Funds and Endowments. You will perform a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the financial condition of the firm, the products and markets in which the firm is engaged, the firm’s investment strategy, the strength of the firm’s management team and whether there is any reputational risk in doing business with the counterpart. You will monitor trading line usage for assigned counterparts, proactively identify emerging risks, and escalate issues to Senior Managers as needed. The Fidelity Institutional Credit Risk Management Team sits within the Risk, Vendor Management and Global Security organization and is part of the Credit and Counterparty Center of Excellence. The team is responsible for credit risk assessments for new and existing clients including but not limited to banks, broker/dealers, hedge funds, registered investment advisers and corporations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting
  • 1 – 2 plus years of related credit and/or financial industry experience
  • Experience with Hedge Funds is preferable
  • CFA Candidacy, helpful but not required
  • Knowledge of Prime Brokerage, Capital Markets products, digital assets, investment strategies, financial statement analysis and accounting principals
  • Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills that will be leveraged in influencing decisions
  • Ability to work effectively in a trading environment, prioritize workload and contribute as a member of a dynamic, fast paced team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ, PowerPoint, Excel, Tableau and Power BI

Responsibilities

  • Assisting senior members of the team performing written financial and risk analysis on all new and existing trading counterparts and establishing appropriate trading guidelines based on analysis
  • Maintaining and updating credit profiles for counterparties
  • Monitoring and escalating credit and market exposure as necessary, utilizing various financial tools to assess, monitor, and measure daily counterparty trading activity
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk management systems through testing, validation, and enhancement initiatives
  • Collaborating with Compliance, Legal, Collateral and Operational Risk teams and building relationships across the organization to resolve issues and support the needs of the Fidelity Prime Services business
