About The Position

The Credit Reporting Transmission Specialist II is responsible for independently managing data quality controls and resolving recurring data and bureau rejection issues. This specialist actively participates in the entire monthly credit reporting cycle and ensures data integrity to minimize the likelihood of inaccurate consumer reports.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years experience in credit reporting, credit corrections, loan servicing, or a highly analytical data-intensive role.
  • Direct experience working with Metro 2 file specifications or the CRRG preferred
  • Advanced/Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid experience with basic data mining queries (e.g., using SQL or similar tools) to locate loan and historical data.
  • Direct experience with credit dispute resolution workflows preferred
  • Thorough understanding of the FCRA and PennyMac's guidelines for accuracy and integrity of furnished information.
  • Working knowledge of other related laws like FDCPA or RESPA preferred
  • Proven ability to manage a recurring monthly process with strict deadlines, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to identifying data issues.
  • Experience in training or mentoring junior staff preferred

Responsibilities

  • Execute and validate the full Pre and Post Transmission process and associated queries
  • Format the consolidated Bureau Reject Report (for all CRAs: Equifax, Experian, Innovis, and TransUnion) and review known issues and reject reasons
  • Resolve exceptions noted during Pre and Post-Transmission processing, including deleting, updating, and correcting information on the system of record as appropriate
  • Identify and reverse overrides placed on loans due to system limitations or management exceptions
  • Update Procedures and Process Maps as directed by management
  • Assist other lines of business in determining what information reported and verifying its accuracy
  • Collaborate with Credit Corrections to provide any credit reporting support with data tracking, dispute tracking, projects, creating efficiencies
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
