About The Position

Support the credit process by independently reviewing and processing electronic new credit, job, and COD applications. Collect, analyze, and verify customer financial information, order and review credit reports and credit scores, and identify potential fraud indicators or application discrepancies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an office or clerical role, with a basic understanding of filing systems
  • Strong written and verbal business communication skills
  • Must be comfortable using Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication, follow up, and organizational skills
  • Team oriented mindset with the ability to build positive working relationships

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Process new account, job account, and COD account requests with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Order and review credit reports to evaluate the financial stability and creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
  • Handle frequent inbound and outbound phone communications with customers, branches, and internal departments and associates.
  • Engage with customers and vendors by requesting and providing credit references to support informed credit decisions.
  • Gather missing information by communicating with customers, branch managers, and sales personnel to ensure applications are complete.
  • Approve credit limits within assigned authority levels following established credit policies and procedures.
  • Communicate findings from credit investigations to the Regional Credit Analyst and appropriate line management.
  • Process vendor applications, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Manage sales agent updates, entering and adjusting assignments as needed.
  • Process credit term changes when appropriate with proper approval requirements.
  • Perform account maintenance and updates.
  • Assist with special projects that support the credit department and broaden organizational goals.
  • Prepare reports as requested by the Credit Process Supervisor to support decision making and process improvement.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned to support the credit team and business operations.
