About The Position

This role supports credit and structured investment & operation workflows, automates portfolio data analytics via VBA and SQL, and serves as the primary business liaison for system enhancements and UAT. The Credit Investment Management Department (CIM) is responsible for the booking and administering of leveraged loan assets and structured product assets including CLOs (note investments and warehousing facilities) and MML Senior Financing through maturity or refinancing in accordance with the Branch’s lending policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a financial institution, preferably supporting credit, loan operations, portfolio management, or risk functions.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced), VBA, and SQL; experience with data extraction and manipulation from enterprise systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and support complex business workflows and translate them into technical or system requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with investment professionals, operations staff, and IT developers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a working understanding of loan and CLO structures, cash flows, covenants, ratings, and risk metrics to effectively support front-office and operation needs.
  • Actively support day-to-day leveraged loan and/or structured credit investment and operational activities, including investment workflows, portfolio monitoring, reporting processes, and closing procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing portfolio and operational reviews to identify data, process, and system improvement opportunities.
  • Own the development, maintenance, documentation, and enhancement of End-User Computing (EUC) applications.
  • Design, maintain, and automate Excel-based tools, templates, and models using Excel, VBA, Power Query, and SQL, ensuring appropriate controls, versioning, and documentation.
  • Translate evolving investment and operational requirements into scalable EUCs and identify opportunities to migrate mature EUCs into formal systems.
  • Serve as the primary business liaison between Internal Investment & Operation Teams and ITD for system initiatives related to the department’s portfolio management systems.
  • Gather, analyze, and fully understand business requirements, translating them into clear, complete, and actionable functional specifications for IT development.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), validation, and implementation of system enhancements to ensure alignment with business workflows.
  • Perform ad hoc and recurring portfolio data extraction, validation, and analysis to support investment, risk, and management reporting.
  • Assist with troubleshooting data issues and reconciling discrepancies across systems, EUCs, and reports.
  • Assist end users in understanding the design, functionality, and appropriate use of business applications, EUCs, and reporting tools.
  • Establish and maintain user system access controls, monitoring, and documentation in coordination with IT and compliance requirements.
