The Cornell University Office of the University Registrar implements and monitors many academic and administrative policies in coordination with academic units, departments, colleges, and schools to facilitate faculty teaching and student learning. The Office of the University Registrar acts as the steward of academic and student information. The Office of the Registrar champions the constant renewal of student information systems, adapts operations to changing academic needs, federal, state, and institutional policies, and evaluates administrative processes for service improvements. Enrollment representatives within Cornell’s colleges, schools, and units regularly collaborate and partner with the Enrollment Division to accomplish the University’s enrollment goals. The Credit Evaluation and Veterans Affairs Coordinator is a dual-function role within the Office of the University Registrar (OUR), supporting institutional compliance and student success through transfer credit evaluation, systems administration, and regulatory reporting. The position serves as the primary transfer credit processor and School Certifying Official (SCO) for the School of Continuing Education’s (SCE) Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS). This program is Cornell University’s first fully online, part-time degree program and is designed for adult learners with 45-60 transferrable college credits. The coordinator is a member of both the OUR Credit Evaluation and Compliance teams, which together support OUR’s mission to create, maintain, and protect the academic records of current and former students. As with other members of the Credit Evaluation and Compliance teams, the role will be cross trained in various responsibilities to ensure business continuity. Current members of the Credit Evaluation and Compliance teams will similarly be cross trained to support the SCE nuances of this role. The role includes a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Director of Admissions and College Registrar in SCE and regularly collaborates with SCE student services and academic affairs staff. As part of OUR, this position will also collaborate with campus partners including Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid, the Bursar, the Office of Enrollment Compliance and Design (OECD), Cornell Information Technology, and college registrar offices. OUR participates in compliance initiatives and systems projects by contributing business requirements, evaluating and testing technology solutions, and supporting implementations. This role is integral to those efforts.
