About The Position

The Credit Department Clerk provides administrative and operational support to the lending function and works closely with lenders and other personnel to facilitate efficient loan processing, maintain regulatory compliance, and deliver excellent customer service throughout the loan lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Understands responsibilities under the Bank Secrecy Act through initial and periodic training.
  • Excellent communication, conversational, and people skills with a positive attitude.
  • Good computer and telephone skills.
  • Team oriented with good problem solving skills and attention to details.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
  • Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

Responsibilities

  • Creates credit files on new customers.
  • Prepare and review consumer and commercial loan documents.
  • Maintains credit files including background and historical data, financial statements, supporting documents, loan commitments, collateral and correspondence.
  • Performs documentation exception monitoring and loading.
  • Obtains credit reports from credit bureau.
  • Responds to inquiries and requests from loan officers.
  • Reviews and processes daily reports including New Customer Report, Loan Audit Exception Review, File Maintenance, Loan Verifications, and Regular Payouts.
  • Compares next-day review of Fiserv-generated reports against loan documents and officer worksheets from all branches.
  • Scans loan documents for the purpose of record retention.
  • Completes loan maintenance for loan and customer files.
  • Manages credit disputes using e-OSCAR.
  • Files and releases titles.
  • Assists in preparing reports for the Board of Directors.
  • Balances and tracks credit life.
  • Provides audit assistance.
  • Responds to customer inquiries.
  • Performs research for various projects and departments.
  • Picks up, sorts, and delivers mail.
  • Other duties as assigned.
