About The Position

As a Credit Authorization Advisor, you will contribute to analysis, guidance, and prevention related to risk management operations and activities. You will analyze and authorize exceptions and verifications of financing applications for the non-retail client segment of moderate complexity, ensuring sound and prudent risk management. You will act as a resource person and coach for financing packages and financial analysis for account managers and financing analysts. You will propose improvements for risk management and contribute to the implementation of and compliance with credit policies in effect. Your in-depth knowledge of the business area and interpersonal skills are essential. More specifically, you will be required to communicate any changes to financing standards and practices, participate in the integration of risk management deliverables, collaborate in risk quality performance management, and adhere to current policies, practices, and standards, as well as to the various laws governing the distribution of financial products and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Knowledge of the latest financial, economic, policy and legislative developments
  • Ability to perform analyses of the market and the business centre external environment
  • Ability to perform financial analysis
  • Knowledge of the characteristics and credit risk inherent to each major market: commercial, industrial, institutional and agricultural
  • Basic knowledge of financial services industry practices that support business development and service offering initiatives
  • Knowledge of products and services for businesses and those offered by caisses, components and Desjardins distribution networks and those of the competition
  • Knowledge of financing and credit management practices related to businesses
  • Understanding of the philosophy and inner workings of a financial services cooperative
  • Knowledge of policies, legislation, standards and ethics governing the operation of the caisse and its business centres
  • Knowledge of business credit authorization, monitoring, collection and recovery practices
  • Familiarity with Desjardins procedures
