About The Position

The Credit and Collections Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing credit policies, overseeing collections efforts, preparing reports, leading the credit and collections team, and maintaining relevant systems and compliance. This role requires a strong understanding of financial statements, credit score models, and collection laws, along with excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in credit and collections
At least 2 years in a managerial role
Experience in manufacturing and/or construction operations
Strong understanding of financial statements
Strong understanding of credit score models
Strong understanding of collection laws
Excellent communication skills
Excellent negotiation skills
Excellent leadership skills
Proficiency in ERP systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to assess customer creditworthiness.
Review and approve credit applications, set credit limits, and monitor ongoing risk.
Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to balance risk and revenue.
Lead the collections team to ensure timely recovery of outstanding receivables.
Design and execute collection strategies for delinquent accounts.
Negotiate payment plans and settlements with customers when necessary.
Prepare regular reports on aging accounts, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), and collection performance.
Analyze trends in payment behavior and recommend process improvements.
Monitor KPIs and ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
Supervise, train, and mentor credit and collections staff.
Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations.
Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Maintain and optimize ERP and credit management systems.
Ensure adherence to company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
