About The Position

The 2027 Commercial Banking Development Program - Credit Analyst role is part of the L & D Sales II - Commercial team in Phoenix, AZ. As a Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for spreading, managing, and maintaining financial background information on current and prospective customers. You will develop credit studies for Loan Officers, the Chief Credit Officer, and other Executive Management. Your duties will include managing spread assignments, conducting financial analyses, and maintaining related records and files. A key responsibility is the preparation of various credit department reports. The commercial banking group focuses on developing new business and servicing existing clients in the commercial/business banking space, typically for businesses with revenues under $50 million. They handle the negotiation, underwriting, and closing of various loans, including equipment, SBA, commercial buildings, and working capital loans, while also developing and maintaining deposit relationships. This role supports the Credit Administration team by analyzing credit and collateral information to assess lending risk, collecting and organizing company financials for Bank compliance, and updating the Bank’s systems. You will work directly with clients to resolve compliance issues and operational inquiries, review client financials, and perform sensitivity analysis to evaluate credit risk. The role involves preparing in-depth reports with action plans based on research, collaborating with other Bank groups to execute treasury management products, foreign exchange instruments, derivatives, and legal documents. You will produce loan packages for new and restructured loans, facilitate reporting and requests with third parties like auditors and appraisers, and monitor loan disbursements for compliance with Bank regulations.

Requirements

  • Completion of an Accounting course.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • An interest in working in Commercial Banking.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
  • Entry level speaking and writing communications skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare in-depth reports providing plans of action based on qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Bank groups to execute treasury management products, foreign exchange instruments, derivatives as well as legal documents.
  • Produce loan packages for new and restructured loans.
  • Facilitate reporting and requests on behalf of the Bank with third parties, e.g. field auditors, appraisers, etc.
  • Monitor loan disbursements to ensure compliance with Bank regulations.
