About The Position

We are looking for analytical thinkers who enjoy digging into financial data, spotting trends, asking great questions, and helping businesses succeed. As a member of our Commercial Credit team, you'll work alongside experienced lenders and banking professionals to evaluate businesses, support lending decisions, and help protect the strength of our loan portfolio. Your work will directly influence the growth of local businesses and communities. This role is available at multiple levels: Credit Analyst I, Credit Analyst II, and Senior Credit Analyst.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (for Credit Analyst I)
  • College-level accounting coursework preferred (or equivalent experience) (for Credit Analyst I)
  • Banking or financial institution experience is a plus (for Credit Analyst I)
  • Two or more years of commercial credit analysis or underwriting experience (for Credit Analyst II)
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, business structures, and commercial lending (for Credit Analyst II)
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) (for Senior Credit Analyst)
  • Five or more years of commercial credit analysis or underwriting experience (for Senior Credit Analyst)
  • Experience analyzing complex commercial relationships (for Senior Credit Analyst)
  • Leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience is a plus (for Senior Credit Analyst)
  • Financial statement analysis
  • Commercial credit underwriting
  • Cash flow analysis

Responsibilities

  • Analyze commercial financial statements, tax returns, and credit information
  • Spread financial statements and evaluate borrower performance
  • Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Calculate cash flow, debt service coverage, financial ratios, and collateral values
  • Research industries, companies, and market conditions
  • Prepare clear, well-written credit analyses and loan presentations
  • Partner with commercial lenders to evaluate new and existing borrowing relationships
  • Monitor financial reporting requirements and loan covenant compliance
  • Investigate payment histories and review third-party credit reports
  • Prepare portfolio reports and communicate potential credit concerns
  • Help ensure compliance with banking regulations, policies, and lending standards
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Evaluate more complex commercial lending relationships (for II and Senior)
  • Recommend credit decisions based on comprehensive financial analysis (for II and Senior)
  • Review commercial risk ratings and loan structures (for II and Senior)
  • Perform appraisal and loan documentation reviews (for II and Senior)
  • Lead research projects involving industries and commercial borrowers (for II and Senior)
  • Coach and mentor developing analysts (for Senior)
  • Collaborate with leadership on special projects and portfolio initiatives (for II and Senior)
  • Support internal and external audits (for II and Senior)
