About The Position

The Credit Analyst is responsible for understanding and complying with regulatory requirements for financial transactions, particularly the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Customer Identification Program (CIP). This role emphasizes superior customer service, relationship building, and promoting a loyal relationship between the customer and Austin Bank. The position also involves fostering a teamwork atmosphere, staying updated on company communications, and developing personal skills through ongoing training. Upholding the organization's values, including ethics, integrity, and confidentiality, is paramount. The Credit Analyst prepares Credit Analyses, which involve analyzing borrower and guarantor financial statements, cash flows, company history, competition, industry/market, and borrowing relationships for approval, recommendation, or annual review purposes. The role requires accurate and precise work adhering to accounting principles, business finance standards, and Bank policies and procedures, often performed without close supervision. The Credit Analyst must handle multiple tasks, report to work regularly and promptly, maintain confidentiality, and enhance professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with regulatory requirements for financial transactions, specifically Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Customer Identification Program (CIP).
  • Provide superior customer service and build strong customer relationships.
  • Foster a teamwork atmosphere with co-workers.
  • Stay abreast of company communications.
  • Develop personal skills and capabilities through ongoing training.
  • Uphold and safeguard the organization's values, including ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Greet customers and provide superior customer service.
  • Prepare Credit Analysis, including analysis of borrower and guarantor financial statements, cash flows, company history, competition, industry/market, and borrowing relationship.
  • Review the credit file and information from the loan officer.
  • Prepare financial statement spreads, cash flows, Loan Memo, and detailed Credit Analysis.
  • Develop a list of questions and information needs for the loan officer.
  • Research industry information and RMA comparisons.
  • Review loan agreements and loan policy for compliance.
  • Send completed packages for review.
  • Distribute loan packages to Committee Members upon approval from the Chief Credit Officer or Chief Lending Officer.
  • Attend Loan Committee meetings.
  • Ensure work is accurately and precisely performed utilizing accounting principles, business finance standards, and Bank policies and procedures.
  • Perform job responsibilities without close supervision.
