About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting the credit administration function of the bank through input and analysis of financial information, credit memo production, covenant tracking and the annual review process. The role involves performing credit analysis on commercial loan requests, completing applicable sections of commercial loan request memos, and inputting financial information into the credit origination system. It also requires identifying risks, performing trend analysis, and supporting the annual review of major borrowers and covenant tracking. Additionally, the position involves building customer relationships by actively participating in local business and community activities, promoting a favorable image of the bank, and making calls on customers with commercial development officers. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with staff and management at all levels of the organization. Compliance with all Bank policies, procedures, Federal Regulations, BSA/AML/OFAC, and CIP Program is mandatory. Additional responsibilities include participating in committees, coordinating PTO, answering phones, and performing other duties as directed by a supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with staff and management
  • Must have good analytical and organizational skills and be able to support and maintain strong and positive working rapport with various Bank departments
  • Exceptional knowledge of arithmetic and its applications. Use mathematics to solve problems
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including (but not limited to) Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Must be able to use internet and business applications that require use of internet
  • Successful completion of in-house training programs
  • Exceptional customer service and professional skills
  • Strong telephone skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, delegate, and make decisions

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
  • Experience and working knowledge of the banking industry, rules, and regulations preferred but not required
  • Basic accounting knowledge preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Performs credit analysis on commercial loan requests under direction of Commercial Credit Manager.
  • Completes applicable sections of commercial loan request memos.
  • Inputs financial information into the credit origination system.
  • Requests additional information from commercial development officers as needed to complete analysis.
  • Identifies risks and performs trend analysis to support commercial credit originations and renewals.
  • Helps ensure the bank is taking prudent risk on commercial loans.
  • Supports the annual review of major borrowers.
  • Supports the covenant tracking process and completes analysis of interim financials as needed.
  • Actively participates in local business and community activities.
  • Promotes a favorable image of the bank in all business activities within the community.
  • Makes calls on new or existing customers with commercial development officers as needed to understand loan requests.
  • Supports the bank’s strong relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge.
  • Must be able to communicate thought clearly, both orally and written.
  • Must be able to communicate throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Reports at internal Branch meeting monthly.
  • Participates in monthly branch staff meetings.
  • Communicates with Branch staff regularly.
  • Present and review loan requests, as defined by the loan policies, with directives for the consideration and approval or rejection.
  • Responsible for knowing and complying with all Bank policies and procedures that apply to the position.
  • Responsible for knowing and complying with all Federal Regulations and bank policies/procedures that apply to position, including the BSA/AML/OFAC and CIP Program.
  • Participates on SFSB’s assigned committees.
  • Coordinates PTO days with supervisor to ensure department is adequately staffed at all times.
  • Answers phone as needed.
  • Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.
