This role is responsible for leading a dedicated team of credit analysts and underwriters, while also collaborating with other departments to establish policies, practices, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Expertise in credit risk analysis and underwriting, with the ability to navigate complex challenges effectively.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the capability of influencing across departments and organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in using credit risk assessment tools and credit management software.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in credit risk analysis and underwriting, preferably within the banking sector.
  • Three years of managerial experience with direct reports.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree in a related field or professional certification in risk management or underwriting is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the credit risk assessment process, including the review and monitoring of credit applications to ensure their compliance with the bank's credit risk strategy and policy guidelines.
  • Responsible for the leadership and management of a team of credit analysts and underwriters, guiding their day-to-day activities and managing their professional development.
  • Actively contribute to the development and revision of credit policies, practices, and procedures to balance risk and profitability.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute short and medium-term strategic initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, influencing actions to optimize portfolio performance.
