About The Position

Build your foundation for a career in credit and commercial banking. During Associated Bank’s five-month Credit Analyst Program, you’ll combine hands-on experience with dedicated training, projects and opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues across the organization. You’ll build connections with peers, mentors and banking professionals while gaining exposure to how we evaluate credit, support clients and develop financial solutions. Throughout the program, you’ll put what you’re learning into practice and build the knowledge, confidence and experience to create a strong foundation for your career at Associated Bank. Join Associated Bank as a 2027 Credit Analyst Trainee - Commercial Banking, where you’ll analyze financial statements, support portfolio monitoring activities, prepare credit-related analyses, and learn how to evaluate lending opportunities for middle-market businesses. You’ll work closely with Portfolio Managers, Commercial Lenders, Relationship Managers, and Credit professionals while gaining hands-on experience across the commercial credit lifecycle. Participants gain the skills and experience needed to pursue future opportunities within portfolio management, commercial banking, credit, and other commercial banking functions. This role is located in Milwaukee, WI and is on-site. The Credit Analyst Program begins on May 24, 2027.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand Associated's credit approach and underwriting process, as well as spread and analyze financial data.
  • Conduct the analysis and underwriting of existing and new credit transactions, in preparation to monitor and manage a loan portfolio.
  • Learn and understand Associated's lending cycle and the wide range of banking products we provide to our customers and prospective customers.
  • Help companies analyze their capital structure and financial needs in order to help develop and recommend financial solutions.
  • Understand Associated's value proposition and the benefit of relationship banking.
