About The Position

As a Bank Intern, you will train in various departments throughout the Bank gaining experience in banking operations and procedures while performing hands-on duties. It is intended that the Intern will be responsible for at least one major project or service on a committee during the internship.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow directions accurately.
  • Basic knowledge in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Candidates must be open to working on a variety of projects and tasks.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university, or a recent college graduate.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
  • Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

Responsibilities

  • Work with immediate supervisor and department representative to develop a personal training schedule based on education, career goals and previous work background.
  • Meet with employees in each department and engages in assigned training or work projects.
  • Learn the bank’s computer systems in order to assist in the processing of customer transactions and to assist bank staff.
  • As training is received, function in the various positions for a period of time using the skills learned.
  • May perform duties as a substitute for an absent employee.
  • May represent the bank in various community and civic functions.
  • Complying with privacy policies and procedures to maintain customer confidentiality and information protection.
  • Complying with all federal, state and local regulatory rules and regulations governing financial institutions, as well as all company policies and procedures.
  • Completing and passing all required regulatory compliance training as assigned.
  • Perform any additional duties and tasks assigned by management.
