Credit Analyst I
About The Position
An entry-level position designed to expose the employee to fundamental aspects of the department. Work is assigned as needed, with the employee working closely with one or more team members appointed by the Senior Credit Officer or as determined by the Chief Credit Officer. The employee must have some financial knowledge from a secondary education source or acceptable work experience as determined by the Senior Credit Officer. The role has a high level of supervision, while still requiring the employee to work independently without constant oversight. Work is evaluated against training goals for accuracy, timeliness, and results.
Requirements
- Some financial knowledge from a secondary education source or acceptable work experience, as determined by the Senior Credit Officer.
- Moderate grammar, punctuation, and business writing skills.
- Basic understanding of financial ratios and how to calculate them.
- Some underwriting experience, with developing underwriting experience.
- Ability to work courteously, effectively, and efficiently with a wide range of personalities.
- Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer software systems.
- Ability to exchange information and report facts and technical information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to attend accurately to many details in a timely manner.
- Ability to resolve questions and problems with a supervisor, manage personal workflow, and meet deadlines.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience.
- Entry-level experience of 1–2 years; intermediate-level experience of 2–3 years; or senior-level experience of 5 or more years.
Responsibilities
- Understand tax returns and other related financial documents at a basic level.
- Pull credit and interpret personal debt service.
- Conduct preliminary analysis for client presentations.
- Follow up on outstanding documentation to ensure receipt within turnaround-time standards.
- Review and analyze received documentation and ensure it is complete.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
