About The Position

The Credit team in our National Support Center (NSC) is looking for a Credit Administrator. This is a remote position. Applicants may be based anywhere in the United States. Pay for this position is between $22 and $24 per hour at this location. This role handles all aspects of the credit and collections process for an assigned base of accounts, fosters and cultivates strong relationships with both internal and external customers, prepares credit approval packages, understands and interprets credit bureau reports, responds to reference requests, assists in credit analysis and approval, and assists with collateral issues. The Credit Administrator will maintain precise and up-to-date credit and collection files, keep detailed electronic notes, and participate in team-based initiatives. They will review and approve credit lines and job accounts up to $10,000, review over credit limit reports, communicate with Profit Center Managers, conduct collection calls on overdue accounts, reconcile customer statements/billings, process refunds of credit balances, and utilize various technology platforms to troubleshoot payment application issues. The role also includes completing required safety and compliance training and performing other reasonably related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1 or more years of experience in customer service
  • Proficiency in Eclipse software.
  • Strong accounting/mathematical ability and experience.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain an understanding of the credit laws utilized to collect Accounts Receivable i.e. lien laws, payment bonds, Miller Act, Little Miller Acts, promissory notes, letters of credit, joint checks.
  • Results oriented; focused on attaining goals and objectives.
  • Effectively use Microsoft Office software to communicate via email, to review reports and documents.
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of or working towards a Credit Business Associate (CBA) designation from the National Association of Credit Management (NACM) is preferred.
  • Wholesale distribution experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of the credit and collections process for an assigned base of accounts.
  • Foster and cultivate strong relationships with both internal and external customers to support their needs and improve satisfaction.
  • Prepare credit approval packages for submitted applications, annual review, job accounts and credit line increases.
  • Understand and interpret credit bureau reports and business credit reports.
  • Promptly respond to reference requests on existing customers.
  • Assist in the credit analysis and credit approval process.
  • Assist in collateral issues.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date credit and collection files to support compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Keep detailed electronic notes for each customer interaction, ensuring comprehensive tracking of communication and follow-up actions.
  • Participate in team-based initiatives within the Credit Department, fostering effective communication and cooperation to achieve shared goals.
  • Review and approve credit lines and job accounts up to $10,000, assessing risk and creditworthiness as part of the decision-making process.
  • Review over credit limit reports to begin analysis of customers requiring credit line increases.
  • Communicate with Profit Center Managers to understand PC exposure in relation to increased customer activity.
  • Conduct collection calls on overdue accounts to manage and reduce the aging portfolio effectively as needed.
  • Reconcile customer statements/billings and provide invoice documents to customers as requested.
  • Accurately process refunds of credit balances.
  • Utilize various technology platforms to troubleshoot payment application issues and communicate effectively to resolve.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
