The Credentialing Specialist ensures that the healthcare providers are credentialed in accordance with organizational policies, operational procedures, and applicable governmental and regulatory agency regulations and standards. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with an Associate's Degree in Secretarial Science or a related field being preferred. A minimum of three years of experience in Medical Staff Credentialing is required. The position involves moderate activity, including sitting, moving around the office and facility, and potentially traveling to other facilities within the SRHS service area. It requires using various physical motions, being subject to exposure to body fluids, and performing repetitive hand and wrist movements while operating office equipment. Close visual acuity and the ability to perceive sound are also necessary. The role demands keen mental faculties, assessment and decision-making abilities, superior communication skills (written and verbal), emotional stability for high-stress situations, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Attention to detail, multi-tasking in complex situations, and maintaining collaborative working relationships are essential. Proficiency in computer use (keyboard, MS Outlook, Word), telephone, and fax is required. The specialist must demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply professional skills to a patient population of all ages.
