About The Position

Animal Doctors of South Tampa is seeking an experienced Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join its busy walk-in veterinary hospital, which serves dogs and cats and provides wellness care, urgent care, dentistry, and surgery. The technician will work alongside veterinarians and other technicians in a fast-paced environment, using technical skills to support patient care, procedures, and client education. The ideal candidate communicates effectively, contributes positively to the team, and is committed to continuing to develop their knowledge and skills in veterinary medicine.

Requirements

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the State of Florida.
• At least 2 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician.
• Previous surgery experience.
• Confidence assisting with surgery and surgery recovery.
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint.
• Ability to confidently place IV catheters.
• Experience with blood draws and running in-house bloodwork.
• Knowledge of radiology and proper patient positioning.
• Comfort using standard veterinary laboratory equipment and tools.
• Understanding of animal behavior and veterinary healthcare.
• Strong client education and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment and remain calm and effective under pressure.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Positive, supportive, and team-oriented attitude.
• Passion for working with animals and their owners.
• Availability to work a rotating Saturday schedule.

Responsibilities

• Handle and restrain patients appropriately.
• Place IV catheters and draw blood.
• Perform laboratory procedures and run in-house bloodwork.
• Perform radiology and position patients for imaging.
• Assist with surgery and support surgery recovery.
• Provide client education and communicate effectively with the team.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
• Work a rotating Saturday schedule.
