About The Position

Hometown Veterinary Partners (HVP) is seeking full-time Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) to join their team in brand-new veterinary hospitals. As a valued member of the hospital team, you will report to the Hospital Director or Partner Doctor and support HVP's core beliefs of Culture, Collaboration, and Community. LVTs are empowered to provide exceptional, individualized client care and contribute to the hospital's success by advancing medical care, client communication, teamwork, and marketing.   • Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) required.
  • Graduation from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology Program, or qualification for Minnesota veterinary technician licensure through an approved alternative pathway as recognized by the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine.
  • Maintain all required licensure and continuing education requirements as mandated by state law.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of veterinary or technician experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient intake, discharge, appointment scheduling, and client communication.
  • Obtain accurate patient histories, vital signs, and weights.
  • Safely restrain patients and assist during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Perform laboratory testing, radiography, nursing care, and technical procedures as permitted by state practice acts.
  • Prepare, administer, and document medications and treatments as directed by the DVM.
  • Monitor, document, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia and sedation procedures.
  • Perform dental prophylaxis procedures with accuracy and attention to patient safety.
  • Triage emergencies and communicate patient needs effectively to the medical team.
  • Educate clients regarding medications, preventive care, nutrition, husbandry, and treatment plans as directed by the DVM.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical records.
  • Contribute ideas and feedback that support continuous improvement and hospital growth.
  • Participate in quality, safety, and patient care initiatives.
  • Review medical records to identify opportunities for preventive care, diagnostics, and treatment.
  • Assist where needed to support patient care, client service, and hospital operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, including treatment areas, exam rooms, kennels, and equipment.
  • Support inventory, equipment maintenance, and operational tasks as assigned.
