About The Position
At VCA Valley Animal Hospital, you can be the Veterinary Technician you have always wanted to be! We are a 4 doctor, full service hospital located just outside of Hartford Ct. that has served the community for over 30 years. We have a collaborative culture in our hospital that values each person’s individual skill and personality. We treat each patient, pet parent, and team member like part of the family! We are seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our medical team. As Veterinary Technician Supervisor, your responsibilities will include: * Directing work flow on the floor * Cultivate an engaging work environment and maintain our strong hospital culture * Work cohesively with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospital * Help with the interview process for potential new hires and onboard all new associates * Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills * Conduct staff meetings * Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience * Mentoring technicians within the department * Resolve conflicts in a professional and humble manner * Refining and implementing protocols * Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff. Being a Technician Supervisor means you are a believer in the possibilities of high-quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen. Having mastered the entire range of vet tech skills yourself, you are a role model for the team. You will work alongside our Veterinarians, Hospital Manager, and Assistant Manager to provide mentorship, ensure the hospital runs efficiently and fosters a winning environment.
Requirements
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician- CVT, LVT, RVT, LVMT (FL CVT Preferred)
- 5+ years of clinical experience
- Team leadership experience
- Passion for Veterinary Medicine
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
