Credentialed Substitute - On-Call-as needed Substitute
About The Position
The Substitute Facilitator works in the absence of a full-time Facilitator and is responsible for general classroom management and learner supervision. The role plans and implements activities that support learners’ physical, social, and emotional growth; prepares materials for learners to explore and learn; and conducts activities in a safe, organized, and healthy environment. Responsibilities
- Follow instructions left by the Facilitator, or alert the Administrator if no plans are available.
- Check that the classroom has sufficient supplies to carry out lesson plans.
- Maintain normal classroom routines and discipline procedures.
- Teach all subjects and other appropriate learning activities according to curriculum requirements and school and Governing Board policies.
- Use a broad range of instructional strategies, including a constructivist curriculum, challenging goals, effective feedback, differentiated instruction, and backward planning.
- Plan and implement activities supporting learners’ physical, social, and emotional growth.
- Prepare materials for learners to explore and learn.
- Conduct activities in a safe, organized, and healthy environment.
- Provide general classroom management and supervise learners in the absence of a full-time Facilitator.
