NBRC/ASBRT Credentialed Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory Therapy - FT - 3rd Shift

About The Position

This position provides respiratory therapy patient care in critical care, step-down, and general care areas, as well as during critical care transports. The therapist must be able to function in critical settings, including initiating and supporting mechanical ventilation, and perform or recommend procedures in bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy, respiratory diagnostics, and all levels of mechanical ventilation. The role requires excellent communication and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while frequently reprioritizing and changing tasks.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Licensure by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy.
Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Clinical experience obtained while attending a respiratory program, with the ability to function in critical settings, including initiating and supporting mechanical ventilation.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires frequent and rapid prioritization and task changes.

Nice To Haves

BLS certification is preferred; it is required within the orientation period, no later than 90 days after hire or transfer.
ACLS and/or PALS certifications are preferred.
Additional experience with intubation and critical care transport competencies is preferred.
