About The Position

Motion is seeking a Creative Strategist to own their YouTube content strategy end-to-end. This role involves creating educational content to help creative strategists, performance marketers, and creative teams sharpen their craft. The strategist will be responsible for what is published, how it performs, and its distribution across other platforms. A key aspect of the role is tying content performance back to pipeline and revenue generation, working closely with growth and marketing teams. The position also involves building repeatable systems and workflows to scale content output. Motion is an AI-native platform that analyzes creative performance and trends, trusted by top e-commerce and DTC brands, with a strong backing and a growing team.

Requirements

  • A clear POV on Creative Strategy: A belief that creative decisions that move the needle are rooted in research and executed around a specific, testable hypothesis.
  • An obsession with creative and a deep understanding of the YouTube algorithm: A clear sense of how the right combination of things like title, thumbnail, hook, and CTA drives performance.
  • A care for customer research: The ability to find what drives someone toward or away from content and product, and turn that into a creative angle that resonates.
  • Proof you've made winning YouTube content: You can point to a specific video, explain the hypothesis behind it, and walk through the results. You know why it worked.
  • Comfort on camera: The willingness and ability to be the talent yourself when the moment calls for it.
  • A focus on business outcomes: Views are nice, but you want to know what's actually moving the funnel.
  • An ability to thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments: Our team learns fast and moves faster. You can cut through the noise and don't need everything figured out before getting started.
  • Genuine curiosity toward AI: You already work with tools like Claude or ChatGPT, and you can walk us through how.

Responsibilities

  • Owning our YouTube strategy end-to-end: You'd be in charge of what we publish and how it performs.
  • Creating content: Whether you're in front of the camera or not, you'd be the engine powering the content.
  • Owning distribution beyond YouTube: Creating the content is just the start. You'd also decide how it shows up across other platforms and gets repurposed into other formats to maximize impact.
  • Tying everything back to pipeline: YouTube is a revenue channel for us, and you'd be accountable for its contribution to the business. You'd work closely with our growth and marketing teams to ensure the content is feeding the funnel, not just generating views.
  • Building a content engine, not just running it: You'd turn what you do into repeatable systems. Templates, formulas, AI workflows, anything that helps us scale the output without compromising the quality.
