Grounded in the Liberal Arts tradition, the College of Staten Island is committed to the highest standards in teaching, research, and scholarship. Drawing on the rich heritage of the City University of New York that has provided access to excellence in higher education since 1847, the College of Staten Island offers that same opportunity in New York City’s Borough of Staten Island. The Office of Community Educational Engagement (OCEE), formerly known as Continuing Education, is a central resource and bridge connecting the college and community. Our purpose is to prepare students to more fully participate and thrive through academic programs, supportive learning communities, and collaborations across campus and within the community. Drawing from our deeply rooted history in disability rights, OCEE’s Creative Exchange is community inclusion program serving adults over the age of 21 with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities. We provide skills training and unique learning experiences in and out of a college classroom for personal growth and self-empowerment that responds to the student’s self-identified needs. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Lifelong Learning and will plan and teach two, 45-minute modified theater courses.
