About The Position

At Ethos, the Creative Director (Graphic Design) is the visual steward of both our clients’ brands and our own — responsible for leading concept development, shaping design systems, fostering collaboration, and ensuring everything we create is strategically grounded and thoughtfully executed. As a senior creative lead, you’ll work across disciplines to bring clarity to complex ideas, partnering with strategy, creative, and account teams to ensure work is cohesive and aligned with client goals and our Human Kind Brands™ framework. You’ll set the standard while creating the conditions for others to uphold it.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or related field; portfolio‑based equivalency considered.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in art direction or graphic design in a creative environment; management and mentoring experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading brand identity systems and integrated campaign work.
  • Experience presenting and defending creative work with clients and stakeholders.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint; familiarity with Figma or collaborative platforms preferred.
  • Strong understanding of print production workflows, digital standards, and evolving creative processes.
  • A collaborative mindset, with respect for diverse perspectives.
  • A leadership presence and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
  • The ability to connect creative work to strategic and business objectives.
  • A high bar for craft and client service, and the drive to keep raising it.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced, boutique environment.
  • A genuine passion for culture, design, and the human side of creative work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead visual concepting and creative direction across client accounts and internal initiatives.
  • Translate strategy and briefs into clear, compelling visual systems and solutions.
  • Partner across teams to ensure work supports strategic and business objectives.
  • Participate in discovery, workshops, and presentations to help shape brand and design direction.
  • Develop, refine, and extend brand identities and integrated campaign work across channels.
  • Oversee production and final delivery of print, web, social, and experiential assets.
  • Provide thoughtful direction and critique to creative partners, both internal and external.
  • Present work to clients and stakeholders, articulating concepts, visual systems, and the rationale behind them.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and craft across all outputs, maintaining brand standards within scope, timelines, and budget.
