About The Position

Hill Country Telephone Cooperative (HCTC) is seeking an experienced Creative Designer to conceptualize and execute ideas, campaigns, and brand initiatives across various platforms including print, digital, social media, and community communications. This role goes beyond simple production, requiring a creative professional capable of transforming marketing objectives into original visual concepts that resonate with customers and communities. The Creative Designer will collaborate closely with HCTC's Marketing, Digital Marketing, Public Relations, Customer Experience, and Sales teams to produce compelling and consistent communications across multiple channels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and professional experience will be considered.
  • Five or more years of professional graphic design, creative design, or visual communications experience.
  • Strong professional portfolio demonstrating original concept development and execution across multiple forms of media.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite or comparable professional design applications.
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, color, imagery, and visual hierarchy.
  • Experience designing for both print and digital environments.
  • Ability to develop creative ideas independently while effectively incorporating stakeholder feedback.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and project-management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with photography, video, motion graphics, animation, or AI-assisted creative platforms is a plus.
  • Telecommunications, broadband, technology, utility, cooperative, or service-industry experience is also a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop original creative concepts, campaign themes, and visual approaches that support marketing and communication objectives.
  • Design engaging materials for advertising, direct mail, brochures, signage, presentations, email, websites, social media, events, and promotional campaigns.
  • Translate messaging and content into clear, effective visual communications.
  • Adapt creative concepts across print and digital channels while maintaining a consistent HCTC brand.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and other departments to develop creative solutions for customer, sales, community, and internal communication needs.
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite and other professional design applications to produce high-quality finished work.
  • Use generative AI and AI-assisted creative tools for ideation, image creation and modification, storyboarding, design exploration, and production efficiency.
  • Support photography, short-form video, and basic motion graphics as needed.
  • Prepare production-ready artwork, organize creative assets, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Use campaign results and audience engagement to continually improve creative effectiveness.
