About The Position

The Creative Content Specialist plays a central role in shaping how CHCPBC communicates both internally and externally. This role is responsible for bringing our public protection mandate to life through compelling, creative, and strategically crafted content that engages the public, licensees, applicants, and our own staff. From leading our social media strategy to producing videos, podcasts, and public awareness campaigns, the Creative Content Specialist ensures that content is consistent, credible, and strikes the right balance between regulatory authority and genuine human connection. This position is responsible for making CHCPBC feel approachable, bringing instinctive audience awareness and genuine creativity to the important work of protecting the public. It is essential for all College staff to contribute to a team approach with a public protection focus, delivering efficient services that align with and allow the College to meet its regulatory, strategic, and operational goals.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a versatile creator across social media management, video and podcast production, and digital content.
  • Working knowledge of social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo, YouTube, and possibly others), AI tools, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva, and the judgment to know which tool serves the message best.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to compose communication materials on complex issues using succinct, simple language and tactfulness.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms, website content management systems (such as WordPress), and applying style guides to ensure consistent, on-brand communication.
  • Demonstrated understanding of diversity, inclusion, and cultural safety and humility.
  • Awareness of, and commitment to, reconciliation, anti-discrimination, and calls to action to address Indigenous-specific racism in the healthcare system.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience applying principles of digital accessibility, including an understanding of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, is an asset.
  • Previous work experience in a regulatory, not-for-profit, government, or post-secondary environment is an asset.
  • Awareness of the Health Professions and Occupations Act and its application to the work of CHCPBC is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Shapes and stewards the College’s personality, ensuring all content feels consistent, credible, and human while translating complex regulatory language into plain, accessible communication.
  • Creates compelling external content across social media, newsletters, the web-site, and public awareness campaigns.
  • Leads and manages CHCPBC's social media strategy, managing channels, planning content, and tracking performance.
  • Crafts internal content including staff updates, announcements, short-form videos, podcasts, blog posts, and creative campaigns that reflect and reinforce our organizational culture.
  • Contributes to the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal and external communications plans and ensures that overall communications are consistent, clear and in line with CHCPBC’s strategic objectives.
  • Produces, edits, and formats website copy and digital messaging in compliance with brand/style guidelines.
  • Collaborates with other communications staff to write, design, and distribute electronic communications (e.g., e-newsletter, announcements, and promotional material).
  • Supports the People and Culture team by triaging departmental inquiries and responding to routine communications-related requests.
  • Recommends and implements enhancements to communications processes to improve the experience of all who interact with CHCPBC.
  • Actively contributes to a team culture where everyone's work is valued, collaboration is the norm, and the standard for quality is collectively owned.
