About The Position

The Hope Learning Center is a premier provider of educational and therapeutic services for children with special needs. Our multidisciplinary team works together to help students with autism and developmental disabilities build communication, emotional regulation, and social skills in a supportive school environment. We are seeking a Creative Arts Therapist (Music Therapist or Art Therapist) to join our team at Hope Academy. In this role, you will provide individual and group therapy sessions that help students express themselves, develop social-emotional skills, and build confidence through creative therapeutic interventions. This is a school-based position working directly with students in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or related Creative Arts Therapy field
  • One of the following credentials: MT-BC (Music Therapist – Board Certified) ATR or ART-BC (Art Therapist credentials – Master’s required)
  • 1–3 years of experience in education, autism services, behavioral health, or human services preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
  • LPS or Teaching certification strongly preferred
  • Experience working with children or individuals with developmental delays preferred
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
  • Act 34 PA Criminal Background Check
  • Act 114 FBI Clearance (Department of Education)
  • Act 168 Clearance
  • Mandated Reporter Training
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Recent Physical and TB Test

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of experience in education, autism services, behavioral health, or human services preferred
  • LPS or Teaching certification strongly preferred
  • Experience working with children or individuals with developmental delays preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group creative arts therapy sessions using music or visual art interventions
  • Facilitate social skills groups and therapeutic classroom activities
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, therapists, and administrators
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and student therapy records
  • Monitor student progress and adjust therapy goals and interventions as needed
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and therapy goals
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities
  • Support the overall social and emotional development of students within the school environment
