About The Position

This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the School of Excellence Arts program, ensuring program quality and the safety of youth at all times. The instructor will plan, implement, coordinate, and supervise an assigned group of children and youth participating in a Christian Camp. This role provides faith-based guidance and role modeling to campers, ensuring a safe and positive experience. The instructor will participate alongside campers during camp worship meetings and times of prayer, lead devotional activities and faith-based songs, and support the seeker’s ministry.

Requirements

  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Some physical requirements of the instructor position include endurance, such as climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are required to manipulate equipment and perform various activities.
  • Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read and hear music notes, play musical instruments, sing, cook/bake, etc.
  • CPR and First Aid Certified

Nice To Haves

  • Six months of experience teaching creative arts, with the ability to perform and teach lessons in a classroom setting involving more than one student, preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides faith-based guidance and role modeling to campers, ensuring a safe and positive experience.
  • Participates alongside campers during camp worship meetings and times of prayer.
  • Leads devotional activities and faith-based songs with campers and supports the seeker’s ministry.
  • Demonstrates Christ-like care and will be responsible for praying with campers, encouraging them spiritually, and guiding them in their Christian walk.
  • Provides training and development of campers for performing, visual, or culinary arts, public speaking, performance, and service learning.
  • Supervises and organizes an assigned group of campers during scheduled and unscheduled time blocks, in accordance with camp rules and regulations.
