About The Position

This role is responsible for leading a team focused on credit risk within the CRE (Commercial Real Estate) sector. The position involves proactive communication with loan officers and portfolio managers, reviewing and underwriting complex loan requests, and managing loan portfolios. Key duties include ensuring accurate risk rating, monitoring loan performance, maintaining BSA information, and advising lenders on credit policies. The role also involves performance management of direct reports and assisting with reporting and compliance.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of credit underwriting, accounting, and loan documentation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate credit concerns and formulate alternate loan structures to customers, business unit team leaders, department heads, and senior management.
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal and social skills needed to interact with loan officers, administrative staff, and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively communicate with Loan Officers and assigned Credit Portfolio Managers during the underwriting, approval, and portfolio management processes.
  • Review and circulate credit packages and modifications for approval, ensuring they are updated as required.
  • Underwrite complex new loan requests and modifications.
  • Coordinate with Commercial Loan Officers, Loan Officer Assistants, and Direct Reports on all activities required to complete a credit package.
  • Complete performance evaluations, review and approve timecards, and perform other manager-related activities for direct reports.
  • Prepare effective packages for credit approval circulation and present packages to the required level of credit authority.
  • Obtain and monitor various loan portfolio reports (e.g., Maturing Loans, Past-Due Loans, Annual Reviews) and proactively assist lenders with action plans.
  • Assure accurate risk rating of credits and proper monitoring and reporting.
  • Adhere to and comply with all requirements of Regulation B Adverse Action Procedures -- Florida Division.
  • Create and maintain current BSA Information.
  • Adhere to and comply with all requirements of watch list and EDD procedures.
  • Manage and track covenants, borrowing bases, A-R Ageing, etc. for accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly CLMR reports.
  • Advise Lenders on all matters related to the Bank's Credit Policy and related Procedures/Forms.
  • Conduct annual site visits, attend loan closings, and perform other tasks to support assigned lenders as time allows.
