Position Summary Ragle Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Crawler Crane Operator to join our Heavy Highway/Civil Construction team. This role is responsible for operating a 250-ton lattice boom crawler crane on major infrastructure projects including bridge girder placements, heavy concrete pours, steel erection, and other complex heavy lifts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating large crawler cranes in heavy civil environments and be confident working in fast-paced, safety-critical job sites with varied terrain and weather conditions.

Requirements

  • Active NCCCO certification (or equivalent) for Lattice Boom Crawler (LBC) cranes required
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience operating lattice boom crawler cranes (250-ton class or larger) on heavy civil or highway construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of load charts, rigging practices, lift planning, and load moment indicator systems (LMI)
  • Ability to work safely in varying weather, terrain, and physically demanding job site conditions
  • Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and communication

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with bridge, highway, or large infrastructure construction strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a 250-ton lattice boom crawler crane to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment
  • Perform daily pre-operational inspections including hydraulic systems, wire ropes, hooks, boom sections, and structural components
  • Read and interpret load charts, lift plans, and crane capacities based on radius, boom length, and counterweight setup
  • Assess site ground conditions to ensure crane stability and safe crane placement
  • Coordinate closely with riggers, signal persons, and field crews using hand signals and radio communication
  • Execute critical lifts in compliance with all project safety standards and lift plans
  • Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor field maintenance as needed
  • Maintain accurate daily crane logs, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation
