About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team in a fast-paced metals recycling environment. In this role, you will operate a hydraulic crane to safely and efficiently move scrap metal throughout the yard. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently to complete daily operational tasks.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum 2+ years of consecutive crane operating experience required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfort working in all weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain
Strong time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking
Frequent bending, kneeling, and physical movement required
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

OSHA or safety certification preferred
Familiarity with scrap metal materials and commodities is a plus

Responsibilities

Operate a hydraulic crane to load and unload scrap metal materials, including bales, bins, boxes, crates, and other containers
Load and unload materials from customer trailers, truck beds, bins, and other transport equipment
Transfer materials safely and efficiently from one location to another within the yard
Collect and manage any falling or displaced materials during transfer operations
Maintain a clean and organized work environment by removing debris and potential hazards
Follow all site safety procedures, operational guidelines, and company protocols
Maintain accurate service logs and perform required equipment checks and maintenance documentation
Perform additional duties as assigned to support yard operations
