About The Position
The position of Crater is responsible for creating and building various shipping containers.
Requirements
- Knowledge of packing/crating procedure
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Written and verbal communication proficiency
- Ability to read a tape measure
- One year of experience in Crating, service or similar industry.
Nice To Haves
- Sign industry experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Fabricate wooden crates or boxes using woodworking hand tools and powered tools
- Read blueprints, shipping notices and other specifications to determine materials needed and types of support and braces to be used
- Assembles materials using nailing or stapling machine, screws, bolts, glue and hand tools
- Wraps and pads products
- Builds crate around large or odd-shaped articles
- Wraps and tightens metal bands around crate using banding equipment
- Attach proper identification labels on crates
- Cover equipment with neoprene or other protective covering to protect it during shipments
