About The Position

The Crate Builder is responsible for constructing custom wooden shipping crates and packaging solutions that ensure products are protected during domestic and international transportation. This role supports manufacturing and distribution operations by building high-quality crates that meet customer specifications, safety standards, and shipping requirements. This position reports to the Production Supervisor, is part of the Systems/Hardware team located in Deland, FL and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to : Construct custom wooden crates, skids, and shipping containers using blueprints, dimensions, and packaging specifications to ensure product protection during transit. Operate woodworking tools and equipment, including saws, nail guns, drills, and measuring devices, while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve packaging methods, material utilization, workflow efficiency, and overall shipping quality. Assist in other areas of manufacturing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in carpentry, crate building, woodworking, packaging, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, measurements, and packaging specifications accurately.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to wood dust, noise, and varying temperatures.

  • Experience handling large industrial equipment or materials.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment utilizing continuous improvement principles.
