About The Position

Austin Engineering is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Craneway Coordinator to support our steel fabrication operations. This position plays a critical role in keeping production moving by coordinating and transporting steel plate, materials, and fabricated parts throughout the facility and yard. Requirements

Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes
Ability to work in changing weather and industrial environments
Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills
Ability to read and follow written instructions and production documents
Ability to safely operate heavy material handling equipment
Basic math skills including measuring and calculating dimensions and weights

Nice To Haves

Prior fabrication shop, steel yard, or industrial experience preferred
Minimum 6 months of fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial experience preferred
Valid Wyoming Driver’s License preferred

Responsibilities

Coordinate movement of steel plate, materials, and fabricated parts between storage and production areas
Review and process Material Issue Tickets (MITs)
Verify plate grade, thickness, sizing, and nesting information
Operate overhead cranes, jib hoists, forklifts, yard trucks, trailers, and yard mules
Load, unload, transport, and stage steel materials safely and efficiently
Record heat numbers and coordinate with Quality Assurance prior to cutting
Secure loads for transport and storage
Assist Production Control in locating materials and remnants throughout the yard
Measure and calculate center points and weights for safe lifting operations
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
