About The Position

Austin Commercial is seeking a Crane Superintendent to join their Houston, TX division. This role is responsible for ensuring the enforcement of all company hoisting policies and procedures in the field, providing continuous support to projects, and assisting the senior most crane superintendent with hoisting equipment mobilizations, jumps, and demobilizations. The position also leads hoisting pre-construction coordination meetings when assigned and oversees crane and hoisting activities, utilization, maintenance, and repairs.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Crane Foreman or Crane Operator.
  • Ability to assist in crane/hoisting planning, safety, and operations.
  • Ability to oversee crane and hoisting activities, utilization, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Ability to complete required crane reporting, including daily reports of hoisting activities.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to assist in recruitment and training of crane operators.
  • Ability to identify crane/hoisting needs for projects.
  • Ability to review drawings to assist in the selection of efficient, safe, and cost-effective hoisting plans.
  • Ability to schedule pre-con coordination meetings with vendors and project teams.
  • Ability to ensure safety on hoisting activities for all projects, including overseeing critical lift planning meetings.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with all governmental safety programs and company initiatives.
  • Ability to ensure annual crane and hoist inspections, wire rope inspections, and replacement parameters are followed.
  • Ability to ensure crane and safety training is completed and documented.
  • Ability to work closely with the senior most superintendent and safety department on safety initiatives.
  • Ability to ensure that the crane/hoisting needs of the field are met in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to keep all cranes maintained and repaired in accordance with Company Policy.
  • Ability to ensure good communication with the service department on repairs/inspections/services.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and required reporting on crane, man, and material hoisting activities.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with all corporate and division policies and procedures related to hoisting operations.
