About The Position

HiFyve is hiring for a Field Service Technician! This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mobile cranes and lifting equipment at customer job sites throughout the territory. As a member of the service team, you'll support one of the largest crane sales, rental, and service organizations in the Gulf Coast, providing expert field service on a variety of crane types. Scott-Macon is an authorized dealer for several major crane brands and offers 24/7 field service support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of experience servicing cranes, heavy construction equipment, heavy-duty trucks, or similar mobile equipment
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience reading hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and OEM service manuals
  • Ability to work independently while providing exceptional customer service
  • Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory and respond to occasional emergency service calls
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Experience servicing Tadano, Tadano Demag, Tadano Mantis, Kobelco, Broderson, Terex (legacy), Grove, Link-Belt, Manitowoc, National Crane, Elliott, or similar mobile crane equipment
  • Experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, CAN bus diagnostics, and electronic control systems
  • CDL is a plus
  • NCCCO, ASE, or manufacturer certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hydraulic and lattice boom crawler cranes, rough terrain cranes, all terrain cranes, truck cranes, boom trucks, industrial carry deck cranes, and material handling equipment
  • Perform mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic, and electrical repairs in the field
  • Troubleshoot engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, swing drives, winches, outriggers, boom systems, steering, braking, and electronic control systems
  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and OEM service manuals
  • Perform preventative maintenance, scheduled service, inspections, warranty repairs, and emergency breakdown repairs
  • Inspect cranes and lifting components for proper operation and identify safety or performance concerns
  • Perform operational testing and final quality inspections following repairs
  • Complete service reports, work orders, inspection documentation, and parts requests accurately
  • Communicate repair recommendations and equipment status with customers and service management
  • Maintain a clean, organized service truck and company-provided tools
  • Follow all OSHA, ANSI, DOT, and company safety standards while working safely at customer job sites
  • Participate in ongoing OEM training to remain current on new crane models and technology
