About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Crane Operator with NCCER or NCCCO certification for a position in the Lake Charles, Louisiana area. The Operator operates power-driven machinery used to move dirt or other materials and may operate equipment such as cranes, backhoes, bulldozers, draglines, front-end loaders, motor graders, cherry pickers, and dump trucks. This is a non-exempt role. Duties are assigned according to specific procedures and work is checked frequently.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• NCCCO or NCCER certification.
• Knowledge of current rigging inspection color codes.
• Must pass a post-offer drug and alcohol screen and physical evaluation and sign acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Operate power-driven machinery to move dirt or other materials.
• Use hand and foot levers to control diesel-, electric-, gasoline-, or steam-powered equipment.
• Interpret hand signals to determine where materials should be placed.
• Read and interpret load charts.
• Assemble or disassemble equipment or materials on construction projects when required.
• Manipulate equipment on unlevel working surfaces when required.
• Perform equipment maintenance such as cleaning, greasing, and oiling machines.
• Ensure rigging has appropriate inspections and color codes.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by a supervisor.
• Comply with company and client job-site safety requirements.
