About The Position

The PLR Crane Operator provides lifting and hoisting services to customers by setting up cranes, conducting pre-operation inspections, rigging loads, and operating cranes. The role includes preparing and moving materials safely, maintaining rigging equipment, and coordinating with workers during lifting and hoisting operations. The position also calls for leading by example and respectfully addressing others when needed. Other duties may be assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

Communication skills.
Reasoning ability.
Understand safety procedures and demonstrate good safety awareness.
Willingness to travel.
Must pass a drug test and background check.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Class A or B CDL required.

Nice To Haves

OSHA 10 certification preferred.
NCCCO Rigger certification is a plus.
TWIC preferred.

Responsibilities

Assemble and install supporting structures, rigging, hoists, and pulling gear.
Attach loads to rigging using hand and power tools to support or prepare them for movement.
Connect pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures using bolts, shackles, and clamps.
Clean and dress machines and part surfaces.
Control the movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces.
Dismantle, maintain, and store rigging equipment.
Manipulate rigging lines and hoists to move or support materials, steel, concrete, and other items.
Select gear, shackles, and cables according to load size, facilities, and work schedule.
Signal or give verbal directions to workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to help ensure the safety of workers and materials.
Test rigging for safety and reliability before hoisting or lifting.
Respectfully confront people when needed and lead through example.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
