About The Position

The Material Handler / Crane Operator operates overhead cranes and forklifts to move heavy steel safely and efficiently, support customer orders, and maintain service and delivery standards. The role is based in Houston and involves working in a fast-paced warehouse environment as part of an operations team.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in material handling or crane operation.
• Skill in understanding crane capacity limits, rigging, and safely handling large and irregular steel materials.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational ability.
• Ability to calculate material weights and accurately read tape measures.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate professionally.

Responsibilities

• Follow company safety policies and promptly report hazards or deficiencies.
• Attend mandatory training and safety meetings.
• Keep assigned work areas clean and materials organized.
• Operate 3- to 5-ton bridge cranes.
• Conduct daily inspections of forklifts, cranes, and controls.
• Load and unload trucks and stock materials using dual-hoist bridge cranes or forklifts.
• Report unusual equipment noises or malfunctions.
• Assist with stock checks and inventory counts as directed.
• Support training for new employees when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
