About The Position

The Material Handler Operator operates material handling equipment safely at all times. The role involves moving materials within the facility, loading and unloading trucks and trailers, and preparing scrap metal for shipment. The operator also inspects and performs basic preventive maintenance on equipment, directs customers within the facility, and assists them with unloading material.

Requirements

• Must be a certified Material Handler operator.
• Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
• Must be highly self-motivated.
• Clear understanding of and adherence to safety regulations, without exception.
• Team player dedicated to the organization.
• Knowledge of scrap metals is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a material handling crane to move material within the facility.
• Load and unload trucks and trailers of material using a crane or other material handling equipment.
• Process and prepare scrap metal material for shipping according to instructions.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Direct customers within the facility and help customers unload material.
• Perform all other duties as required.
