About The Position

The Crane Operations Foreman is responsible for overseeing crane operations, including maintenance, safe lifting practices, and general supervision of material handlers. This role involves operating a travel crane safely, communicating with leadership about equipment concerns, and assisting with product placement and rigging. The Foreman also ensures the crane is maintained in good working condition and adheres to all safety regulations.

Requirements

Crane maintenance knowledge.
Understanding of crane capacity and safe lifting practices.
Understanding of product dunnage and stacking practices.
Knowledge of yard location system.
Ability to conduct pre-operational checks on travel crane.
Ability to operate travel crane safely.
Ability to assist with setting timbers and rigging.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance on the crane.
Adherence to Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
Ability to maintain a clean work area, tools, and equipment.

Oversee crane operations and maintenance.

Provide general supervision of material handlers.
Conduct pre-operational checks on the travel crane and perform daily cleaning/sanitization of the cab.
Communicate with group leader and maintenance regarding any concerns with the Mi-Jack crane.
Operate the travel crane safely, following all safety guidelines and rules.
Work with the crew leader and ground personnel to safely set product on trailers or in stacks in the yard.
Assist with setting timbers on trailers or in stacks and with rigging when needed.
Maintain the travel crane in good, clean, and operational condition, reporting maintenance needs.
Perform preventive maintenance on the crane.
Work as part of a team, assisting others as needed.
Adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
Perform housekeeping duties to maintain the work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
