About The Position

This position is a crane technician responsible for leading a maintenance team, which maintains a wide range of equipment in all areas of the mill of the Big River Steel facility.

Requirements

• Demonstrated safety focus and willingness to proactively apply it in a team environment.
• Quality and detail oriented with strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Reliable team leader with superior communication skills.
• Highly motivated, self-directed, and willing to put in extra hours when needed.
• Previous experience in industrial maintenance.
• Previous experience with NFPA 70E safe work practices.
• Experience reading electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
• Strong working knowledge of 480-volt 3 phase electrical distribution systems and motor control.
• PLC programing experience. (Allen-Bradley and Siemens preferred)
• HS diploma or equivalent is required

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance activities to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on complex electrical and mechanical equipment, including PLCs, control circuits, communication systems, I/O field devices, and VFD drives/motors.
• Coordinate BRS, contractor, and vendor activities to install or modify equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, and other specifications.
• Work directly with all maintenance and operations personnel in a fast-paced environment to help develop a safety focused and productive team that supports teammates to help maintain a positive and efficient work environment focused on safety and reliability.
• Lead the development of a work safety program, PM system, personnel training program, and equipment spares list for the electrical group.
